Why we sell used when the chains won’t

The big tire chains sell new only, because new is where the money is. We are family-owned and independent, so we can do the thing that actually helps you: put a good used tire on your car for a fraction of the price of new.

When money is tight, or the car is close to trade-in, or you just need one tire to get you through the week, used is the honest call. It is one the chains will never make. It is the same reason folks bring us everything from an oil change to a major repair: we tell them what they actually need.

Is buying used tires worth it?

For a lot of drivers, yes. A used tire with plenty of tread left gets you safely down the road for a lot less than new. It makes sense when you need one tire to match a set, when you are selling or trading the car soon, or when four new tires just are not in the budget this month.

It is not always the right call. If all four are worn, if you drive long highway miles, or if you want the newest tread for an Idaho winter, new tires are the smarter buy. We will tell you which one you are, even when the honest answer costs us the sale. We would rather do that than sell you the wrong tire.

The 10-day replacement warranty

Every used tire we sell is covered for 10 days. If something is wrong with it, bring it back and we will replace it, no argument. Used does not mean you are on your own. And if you pick up a nail down the road, we repair flats too, most jobs the same day.

How we check every used tire

  • Tread depth measured, so you know exactly how much life is left.
  • Sidewalls and inner liner checked for cracks, old plugs, and hidden damage.
  • Age read off the date stamp, because rubber gets brittle no matter the tread.
  • Mounted, balanced, and set to the right pressure before it leaves the shop.
  • If a tire does not pass, it does not go on your car. Simple as that.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight

Are used tires worth buying?

For a lot of drivers, yes. A good used tire gets you safely down the road for a fraction of new, which matters when money is tight or the car is close to trade-in. Every one we sell is inspected first, and we will tell you honestly if a new tire is the smarter buy.

Do used tires come with a warranty?

Yes. Every used tire is inspected before it goes on your car and carries a 10-day replacement warranty. If something is wrong with it, bring it back.

How long should a set of tires last?

Most new tires last 40,000 to 60,000 miles, depending on the tire and how you drive. Rotating them every oil change and keeping the alignment straight makes them last longer. A good used tire has less life left but still gets you safely down the road for a lot less.
